Psychotherapy Fees

Fee: My fee for initial intake is $250, and per psychotherapy session is $180. These fees is subject to periodic increases; please contact me directly for the most current rate information.

Insurance for Psychotherapy

Insurance: I am a preferred provider for several health insurance plans, including: Premera and First Choice Health plans. Please contact your insurance company to verify your specific benefits and confirm that I am an “in-network provider” for YOUR plan. If I am in-network with your plan I will be able to bill your insurance company for your psychotherapy sessions directly. You will be responsible for any co-pays, co-insurance and deductible amounts at the time of each session.

If I am not in-network with your particular plan, you may still receive out-of-network benefits to see me; you will need to pay in full for your sessions at the time of service and I can provide you with the necessary information for you to file your own claims upon request.

If you are considering using your health insurance to pay for therapy please contact that company directly prior to coming for your first appointment. You will also want to be clear on your rate of coverage, your co-pay amount, and any unmet deductibles you may have.

Please understand that insurance requires that you have a qualifying mental health diagnosis in order to receive psychotherapy services, and that diagnosis becomes part of your medical records. Insurance restricts the types of services they will cover; some types of services offered are not eligible for insurance coverage.

Please note that I will be phasing out in-network participation in all insurance plans by 2025. After that time, I will be considered Out-of-Network, which means you may still receive some reimbursement if you choose to file claims with your plan.

Other Forms of Coverage for Psychotherapy

Other Forms of Coverage: You may find that your HSA/FSA plan covers all or part of your mental health services, in terms of co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles as well as other out-of-pocket costs. Check with your plan for details.

Some families who have adopted through foster care are able to seek partial reimbursement from Adoption Support through Washington State. Contact your social worker for more information, or find more information here: https://www.dcyf.wa.gov/services/adoption-support-programĀ
